We are dedicated to ensuring that everything
we do is carried out in a responsible way. All the projects
that we operate are run according to our strict ethical policy
which has been created according to guidelines set down by
Tourism
Concern.
The definition of responsible travel varies,
but for us it is about having a positive environmental and
economic impact on the places we visit and a social-cultural
exchange with the people we meet.
We pride ourselves on the close personal
partnerships we have developed with our project partners in
Kenya. We ensure that all work carried out by our mentors
is requested by our partners and maintained and supported
after the assignment finishes.
We are not interested in 'quick fixes' such
as sending groups overseas to paint murals on classroom walls.
Our projects have clear short, medium and long term physical
and financial goals.
All of our staff have personal experience
of the countries that we work with, and we regularly visit
our projects to keep up-to-date with developments. We are
dedicated to ensuring that we provide a first-class, personal
service to you, your employees and our partners overseas.
We use local accommodation, employ a local
workforce, buy local food and support local businesses to
enhance our impact on the community. We always aim to pay
what is a fair price rather than seek out the cheapest deal.
We integrate into the local community, supporting it wherever
possible.
The long-term support we give to our projects
enhances local pride, breaks down divisions, attracts tourism
and creates enhanced, sustainable livelihoods.
